Biography

I was born and raised in Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Mexico. In the Fall of 1995 I began my undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering at the College of Engineering of the Autonomous University of Chihuahua. I finish my undergraduate studies in the Fall of 1999.

Then, I started my masters degree in Statistics at the Department of Mathematical Sciences of the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), under the supervision of Dr. Javier Rojo, who help me to develop the foundations of my thesis. My thesis was finished under the guidance of Dr. Patricia Nava. I continued my graduate students in the Ph.D. program of Computer Engineering of UTEP's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Again, my advisor was Dr. Patricia Nava.

Once that I got my Ph.D. I was hired by Dr. Ming-Ying Leung as Post Doctoral Researcher for the Bioinformatics Program of UTEP.

Since Fall 2007, I am Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Texas A&M University-Texarkana. During 2008, on Saturdays I worked with my colleague Dr. V. Govindaswamy on a C Programming Clinic. This clinic was free for anybody who wants to attend it.

Now I am the Vice-Chair of the IEEE Shreveport Section and and Organizer of the STEAM Conference.
